AI Adoption, Autumn 2026

Taught at Neapolis University Pafos together with Alexander S. Kulikov and Alexander V. Smal.

Lectures

  1. What to Adopt — and Why.
  2. How LLMs Work. Demo: base.py, an interactive console for sampling from the base model OLMo 2 7B without a chat template (temperature, top-p, memorised texts, the knowledge cutoff). Needs Python 3 and LM Studio with olmo-2-1124-7b; run python3 base.py.
  3. Memory, Context and Search. Demo by Alexander V. Smal: search.py, retrieval over the slides of this lecture with BM25, embeddings and their fusion. Needs Python 3; run python3 search.py "your question" --deck https://buyolitsez.github.io/teaching/2026/ai-adoption/lecture03/index.html, and add --embed text-embedding-embeddinggemma-300m with LM Studio for embeddings.
